The next beef order will be here in about 6 weeks! For those of you who don’t know, ICA has a good relationship with a farmer who raises his own grassfed beef on a small farm near Lancaster.  He has the cow butchered, packaged into family sized portions and separated into 1/8ths of a cow (approximately 50# of meat) and each 1/8th costs $395.

There are also pigs available.  A half pig (I think about 60# of meat) costs $350.  In the last order, I believe a half pig yielded about 12 pounds of bacon among all the other cuts of meat.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this meat and we live on the beef at the Warnek household.  Feel free to email us with any questions.

      hey eQ,

      when we ordered, we got half the order in ground beef (about 20#), which is packaged in squares, so they are easy to tetris into your freezer, along with at least 4-5 roasts (chuck, shoulder, tri-tip, brisket) and a bunch of steaks (porterhouse, filet, ranch, etc.). it’s a really good value.

      it seems like a lot of ground beef, but we learned that you can never have too many tacos and burgers and also that we love ground beef.

    the pork chops were AWESOME, and we burned through the roasts and ham steaks in no time. this time, if possible, we’d like to try half/half ground pork and sausage, but if that isn’t possible, i’ll take ground pork.
