AMRAP in 7 minutes of:
- 3 thrusters (100/65#), 3 chest-to-bar (C2B) pull ups
- 6 thrusters, 6 C2B pull ups
- 9 thrusters, 9 C2B pull ups
- 12 thrusters, 12 C2B pull ups
- 15, 15… etc
WOD Notes: Here is folks, the final workout of the 2012 Open! The Games staff chose to repeat the EXACT SAME final workout as last year. It’s a “ladder” of thrusters and chest to bar pull ups. To see the standards video, click here and go to the Week 5 tab. If you’re curious about how people did last year, you can see the 2011 results here. The gym will be open at 4:30 for athletes to start warming up, we’ll go over standards at 5pm, and the first heat will kick off around 5:10.
Heads up for next Thursday: To celebrate the end of the Open and the return of Make Up night, we’re offering an OPEN GYM next Thursday from 4:30-7:30pm. That means you can pick any workout you want — you are not limited to the previous week’s WODs as you are during a normal make up session. The Open Gym will count as a class. Also remember that we’ll be hosting a Barbell Club kick off meeting from 7-7:30pm.

Who’s coming tonight? Who’s gonna have to make it up on Saturday? Who’s excited for the final Open WOD?!?
I am in for tonight! I am really excited for the last Open WOD!!! Everyone is going to do great!!
I cannot fully express my disappointment. I’m definitely getting this over with tonight.
disappointment of the movements or the fact that its a rehash?
i was really hoping for an AMRAP in 2 mins of something heavy =P
Phil John and I were talking about you last night and saying if this was an AMRAP in 3minutes you would probably be one of the top in the Region!! They key for you will be to BREATHE! Start out slower than you normaly would so you have something in the tank for minutes 3-7. I think you’ll do well at this one!
I agree with Nikki, Phil. I think as long as you breathe, you’re going to crush this wod. And yes, I’m disappointed mostly because it’s a rehash. I would have really liked to see something new (and heavier). That said … we all get a go at it again I guess.
Saturday for me. Good luck all!
nooo. i was looking forward to another open wod-off with the buzz!
i think im gonna try to make it in late tonight but will be in sat morning as well to heckle the hell out of some folks
That would be cool. Can’t manage it with the little guy tonight. It’s alway fun to push through these with you.
I’m pretty pumped to see what people can do on this tonight. I was hoping for something a little heavier but we generally have a strong gym that is good at pullups so this should be fun to watch! On that note, I’m resting my back for one final hoorah on Saturday morning.
i’m really looking forward to seeing how everyone does tonight!! 🙂
Saturday will be best for me. I can’t get over this annoying head cold. I am hoping to do well this WOD.
saturday for me too!!! wish i cold come and watch tonight.!!!
I’ll be there tonight, doesn’t actually matter what day I do it, my score is going to be 3, but I’m going to bust my ass every way I can to make my score 4 🙂
Will have to try for Saturday – annoying shoulder! Can’t make it out to cheer on tonight – but good luck to everyone! I’m sure you’ll all do awesome
I’ll be in tonight, my race is Saturday. Hope I don’t destroy myself tonight. And by the way, this workoit if heavy enough for me.

I just want to say a Hell of a job to everyone at these Open WODs. They were sooo much fun (you know, CF fun)! The team aspect, community, commradery was uplifting to be a part of. The group shots of everyone cheering on The Buzz and Phil and sticking around to socialize afterwards was what I’ll take away from this experience.
Hats off to all the athletes who pushed themselves beyond their mental and physical limits during the 5 weeks. “I hope all of your CrossFit dreams came true” and realized you are stronger then you think when your back is against the ropes. In the fight of life, punches will be thrown. You can either receive the punches or throw the punches. I think everyone showed the latter.
Cheers!
Right on, Mark. I think what has impressed me most is how far everyone has come since I saw them start at ICA. I am the happiest person in the world it’s over, but it was definitely good to be challenged each week to see what I could bring out of myself. Thanks for all the encouragement and getting to know you all better as the Open progressed. Good times with good peeps.
I agree with both Mark and Kev! The Open was such a fun experience! I loved seeing everyone before each WOD- all the encouragement and nervous energy was so exciting! I am so proud of everyone!! ICA has such a good group of peeps!! Mark, its seems that your picture and inspiring words have really touched many and made them strive to achieve all of there Cross Fit goals and more!!!
I’ve been a cross fitter for exactly 1 month and 14 days. After all I’ve done, learned and seen up ’til now makes the first introduction meeting I had with Nikki & Mark feel like a lifetime ago. I’ve accomplished so many of my goals in such a short amount of time and I attribute all of that to the support and encouragement I get from all of you. Thanks to everyone for making this the greatest 1 month and 14 days I’ve ever had in my history of fitness 🙂 and making the cross fit games something I completed rather than something I thought 5 weeks ago I could never even dream of doing.
