I am linking this video because Ricky Williams is an interesting character. If you’ve ever seen interviews with him before or his “30 for 30” film, “Run Ricky Run”, you know he is a pretty unique, out-there kind of guy. This link is an interview of him and his thoughts on concussions. I guess I just found it interesting that a pro athlete can think this way.

Am I crazy for thinking he’s not completely crazy? Granted I have no expertise or knowledge on concussions and can’t really comment on concussions in connection with football or any sport, but I think what he’s saying about spending 6 months intensely brutalizing his body, and then spending the next 6 months intensely taking care of his body to me it sounds a lot like the importance of rest days or breaks in crossfit. If you’re going to beat your body up training to get to regionals or the games, then when its over you should be putting that same focus in to healing and recovering your body as well. I could also have completely missed the whole point of the video too and Ricky is just off his rocker, but that’s what I got out of it. P.S. the guy in the orange, his facial expression when Ricky says he doesn’t buy that there is a link between football and concussions….CLASSIC!!! haha. Good share Kev!
I think Ricky’s philosophy on healing the body is taking a hiatus with his stash.
Is anyone doing the Filthy-fifty or yesterday’s workout? I am still undecided what I want to do.
I’m either going to do yesterday’s or the 8 minute clock one.. anyone else? I won’t be in until about 5:30-5:45.
Thinking about #2, also.
I am trying to figure what I can do with my T-Rex arms….
What’s up with your T-Rex arms?
Mike,
I’m up for getting filthy, but I have to do it at 4:30….you down?
Hey guys, I just got these yesterday but realize I don’t need them since I just got another pair of NB. I have 2 pair of NB, both size 10…ordered these in a size 10 and they are 1/2 size too big. They retail for $85 and I got them with a 25% off coupon so with tax, they came to $63 so I’ll sell them for that price. If I don’t have any hits in the next couple of days, I’ll just send them back and get a refund. I’ll bring them to barbell club tonight.
Here they are.
