Daily WOD – Aug 27, 2012

Barb O’Neill (of O’Neill’s Garage)
Emma O’Neill

In teams of 4 complete:

  • Row 5k
  • Goblet squats (53/35#)
  • Pushups
  • Rest

WOD Notes: This WOD is a 5k race on the rower.  While one person is rowing, two others are completing as many reps as possible (of squats and pushups) and one is resting.  You may rotate positions at any time but athletes must rotate in the above order (row to squat, squats to pushups, pushups to rest, rest to row).  Each athlete must accumulate at least 1000 meters on the rower.  The score will be the total time of the 5k row minus 1 second for each squat and pushup.

Phil, I did the same thing and my brain immediately stopped when I realize how LONG that was. Luckily I came back and checked.

going to have to miss this one… Rain and people’s broken down heaps made me absymally late for work today. now im stuck working late :-\ and I love rowing too.. hopefully we can get enough to do this on thursday.

    1. Nikki

Tom if we dont have 4 people interested in making this up on Thursday, we can modify it to work for one person.

    2. Laurie

I’ll do this on Thursday as well. I killed my back on “rest day” by retiling my bathroom, so I ended making up my “recovery day” yesterday.

I just want to put some feelers out there to see if there would be any interest in us hosting a gymnastics skills clinic in October? We were contacted by a men’s gymnastics coach who has been doing “gymnastics for CrossFitters” clinics all over the east coast.

He would host a 2 hour session on ring skills (how to properly hold the rings without ripping up your hands, techniques to build the muscle up and then to perform multiple MUs in a row, and other ring strength skills) and a second 2 hour session on handstands and pull ups (kipping and butterfly). Each session would be $60, or $100 for both.

Let me know if it’s something you’d be interested in and we’ll follow up with more details.

    1. Sarg

I’d love it!!! I hope others will!

  4. Chamberlain

I’d be interested in both clinics.

  5. Tom

Depending on when in october, im out the 5th to 10th… outside of that yeah id definitely be interested in both.

  6. T

Me too. Not sure if we’re taking requests on the dates but the 24th and 27th is Lana’s birthday celebrations so I’d be out of the count if it was on either of those days.

    1. Nikki

It would be either the 20th or 21st.

Ooh! Don’t do the 21st! Lol. My friend has a non profit event, mud run, that day. I have flyers for everyone!! (of course if that’s the only option, then that’s the only option! ) just a thought, or for those who wouldn’t do the seminar, it’s in downtown. His site is http://www.activekidsplay.org.
