Complete 3 rounds for time of:

  • 400m run
  • 20 cleans (95/65#)

Notes:  The first Opens WOD of 2013 will be announced this Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.! We will be completing the opens WODs as our regularly scheduled workouts each Saturday.  If you are signed up for the opens and cannot make it to class on Saturday, plan on showing up Thursday night (the day after the WOD is announced) to do the workout.  Let us know in advance if you plan on doing the workout on Thursday so we can make sure  judges are available.  Here comes the competition season!

    For some reason I can’t sign up for classes tomorrow, but I’d like to come to 6:15 if there’s an opening.

    Is barbell club still going on Saturday morning? Or can we do the open work outs on Saturday at 8a.m.? I want to be able to get into a cllass this weekend

      Yes we will continue to have barbell club during the Opens, but no you can not do the Open WOD at barbell. Barbell club is for independently working on powerlifting, Olympic lifting, and accessory training. We don’t have the space or judges available to run Open wods at that time.

      Because Open WODs will always be run in 2 heats, I will increase the class cap to 18 people. Sign up early if you need a specific class time!

      For people not competing in the Open, and people with flexible schedules, please sign up for the 10 or 11am sessions if you can!! 9am seems to fill up quickly and we want registered competitors to be able to do the wod.

      I think my time was 16:19, but I was trying pretty hard to keep my lungs inside my chest at that point, so I couldn’t swear to it.

    Hi Nikki. Just so I understand this correctly. If I can’t make this Saturday’s first open workout I would then make it up next Thursday the 14th? I’m not able to make class this Saturday or Next Saturday unfortunately. Please let me know. Thx!

    Ok…I re read what you wrote and answered my own question. I will need to do the workout this Thursday. I’m guessing that those who need to do the open workout on Thursday probably need to specify time so that you have judges available? How should we handle time on Thursday to do the open?

      Most Thursdays John and I are both on hand, so one of us will be available to judge pretty much any time you come in. We’d appreciate it if you (and anyone else doing the Open WOD on Thursday) could remind us by posting on the blog and specifying what time you’re planning to come in. The only Thursday that will be tricky is March 28. Coach Killa will be running make up night that night, with Tiana shadowing (while John and I are out of town). That day we may specify a specific time for people to come do the Open WOD…
