Daily WOD – Mar 7, 2014

“14.2”

Take 3 minutes to complete 2 rounds of:

  • 10 overhead squats (95/65#)
  • 10 chest to bar pull ups

If you finish both rounds then:

Take 3 minutes to complete 2 rounds of:

  • 12 overhead squats (95/65#)
  • 12 chest to bar pull ups

If you finish both rounds then:

Take 3 minutes to complete 2 rounds of:

  • 14 overhead squats (95/65#)
  • 14 chest to bar pull ups

…etc

WOD Notes: Get jacked up for 14.2!!! This is an ascending ladder (of sorts) of OHS and C2B pull ups. If you complete 2 full rounds in the first 3 minutes, you’ll wait until the 3 minute clock expires, then you get a new 3 minute clock to attempt 2 more rounds (with 2 extra reps of each movement). For any newbies who don’t know what the Open is all about, read more here. For masters age 55 or older, weights are 65/45#.

    The fatal flaw in this workout is that it assumes I’ll be really determined to last more than three minutes.

    Badass effort by Kelly this morning who got 7 chest to bars that were so solid she now has bruises on her chest! Leave no doubt.

      Nice work dan. 117 reps is into the 3rd round and got 14 OHS 14 CTB and 1 more OHS right?

      Yes Korba. 2 rds + 14+14+1. I finished the 2nd rd as time was about to expire. Definite moment of dread realizing I had to do another 3 mins.

      Advice: I went in purposely splitting each set of OHS and pullups. In retrospect, the C2B are way harder. If you can, minimize the number of OHS sets and take the extra rest on the C2B. And remember that you can snatch the first OHS.

    yes this is a perfect Korba workout except for those CTB pull ups. I wish I could do this workout. Stupid back issues
