Welcome Lee!
Welcome Lee!

Come in between 4:30 and 7:30 to make up one of the last 6 workouts.  This week the choices are:

  1. “14.2” – 3 minutes to complete 2 rounds of 10 OHS (95/65#), 10 C2B pull ups, if you finish take another 3 minutes to complete 12 and 12. Continue until you run out of time.
  2. Sumo Deadlift 2-2-2-2-2-2 then 5×10 Russian KBS (heavy)
  3. Complete 5 rounds for time of 2 rope climbs, 6 back squats (225/145#), 9 HSPU
  4. Parnter Interval AMRAP in 10 minutes of 5 power clean and jerks (135/95#), 5 burpees
  5. Complete 3 rounds for max reps in one minute at each of the following stations: row (1cal=1rep), bear sliders (1mat=1rep), reverse sled drag (180/135#, 1mat=1rep), rope pulls, army crawls
  6. Overhead Squat 3-3-3-3-3 then 3×20 yd KB overhead carry

Open Notes:  Hats off to everyone who is competing in the Open; we are 40% through and we have loved the energy and positive disposition of everyone competing. Emotions run high in any competition, but it is great to see everyone having so much fun!  For 14.2 the top performers for ICA were Kehl, Phil and John for the men and Dani, Jenn and Nikki for the women.  Keep it up!

Open 14.3 will be announced Thursday at 8:00pm. The good news is we’ve gotten some of the hardest movements out of the way! Based on previous years’ WODs, the movements we’ll likely see in the next 3 workouts are: box jumps, burpees, deadlifts, push presses, toes to bar, wall balls, thrusters, clean and jerks, and muscle ups. What are your predictions for 14.3?!?

(Nikki) So here’s my guess. They’ve had 2 WODs where the heaviest weight was 95/65. I think they’re going to go short and heavy this time. My prediction is a “DT” AMRAP! 5 minute clock as many rounds as you can of 12 deadlifts, 9 HPC, and 6 push jerk at 155/105

    1. Pugh

Amrap in 20 mins of, 6 muscle ups, 30 wall balls, 12 HSPU, 15 Power cleans (135)

    2. Dave

Now that I look at that one again, Nikki, I am beginning to pray for it.

  2. Fili

They’ve been going high skill movements this year. Maybe something like Diane. Handstand push-ups and heavy-ish Deadlifts.

  3. Nikki

Fili, that would make my inner gymnast very happy! LOL. But we’ve never seen HSPU in the Open.. will this be the first year?? Maybe… they certainly aren’t shying away from high skill movements. But so far we haven’t seen a single new movement (C2B, OHS, snatch, and DU were all used in the 2011-2013 Opens)

  4. Rick

I’m guessing it’s going to be max distance handstand walk followed by a 5 min AMRAP of MU’s. That should anger everyone.

    1. Dave

      I’d quit.

  5. Dave

Deadlifts, boxjumps and wall ball AMRAP again. Time to keep all the mere mortals strung along and engaged in it for a week or two.

    1. Dave

…and by mere mortals, I mean me and the other 99.5% of people who paid to do this.

You think they make Froning pay $20?

  6. Anna

Yikes!! if that is the WOD… can someone direct me to the refund booth??

  7. Anna

my comment was referring to any HSPU or MU WOD… but I’m thinking along Dave’s line… box jump, deadlifts and maybe KB swings

  8. John

I’m calling for AMRAP in 17 minutes of: 100 burpees, 50 clean and jerks (155/105), 25 muscle ups. I can dream anyway.

    1. Rick

Sign me up for that one.

    2. Dave

I’m with ya, John. Whadya figure, about 8 minutes for the burpees and a C&J every 15 seconds…leaving some time for the elites to rip out some MUs?

      I’m there.

  9. Korba

12 Min AMRAP 21 walls ball, 15 power snatches 9 box jumps

  10. Hoagie

Checking in from Sidlo’s garage – partner AMRAP make up:
    Sidlo Rx
    Hoagie Rx
    11 + 2

    1. Dave

      Nice work, boys!
