Movement matters! Good movement quality is essential to reducing the risk of injury and reaching optimal levels of performance. The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a systematic screening tool that is used to identify limitations and asymmetries in fundamental movement patterns. Based on the results of an individual’s screen, corrective exercises are assigned to address the underlying mobility and motor control issues.
Nikki obtained her FMS certification in November and is now offering FMS screens to our members and athletes from the local community. If you are interested in being screened, check out the details below and email us to set up a time! It is preferred that you do not workout before your screen so that the test results reflect your true functional abilities. Expect to devote about 15 minutes/day to your corrective exercises, 4-5 days/week, for 6 weeks.

FMS Basic – One 30-minute session, includes:
- A complete FMS screen (7 movements)
- Assignment of corrective exercises based on your results
- Web access to FMS Pro 360, where you will view your assigned exercises along with instructions and videos to guide you through the movements
- Cost is $40 if purchased before Dec 31, 2014; $50 after January 1, 2015
FMS Advanced – Two 30-minute sessions, includes:
- A complete FMS screen (7 movements)
- Assignment of corrective exercises based on your results
- Web access to FMS Pro 360, where you will view your assigned exercises along with instructions and videos to guide you through the movements
- A complete re-screen and assignment of additional correctives, ~ 6 weeks after your initial screen
- Cost is $70 if purchased before Dec 31, 2014; $80 after January 1, 2015
