Karen Largent (“Sarge”) – Coach

Karen first heard about Crossfit from her uncle and was interested immediately. Formerly certified to teach BodyPump and BodyCombat, she was looking for something new to shake up her workout routine. She found a local affiliate, completed the baseline workout, and was instantly hooked. Karen joined that night and quickly upped her 2x/week membership to unlimited. The constantly varied workouts were fun and she was seeing gains in strength and overall fitness within months and she enjoyed being welcomed into such a close community.

Excited about the positive changes in her life (and about Olympic lifting!), Karen signed up to complete her L1 Trainer Certification in June 2011 and her Olympic Lifting certification in October 2011. She became a member of ICA in September 2011, shortly after Nikki and John opened, and was brought on as an Assistant Coach in March 2012. Her goal as a coach is to encourage each member to work to their full potential, encouraging them to try things that might seem scary or impossible.
